Michael Barret Watson was born on April 23, 1974, in Traverse City, Michigan. He was raised in Dallas, Texas and now resides in southern California. Barry is known to his friends as Bucky and he has a dog named Harsky who is a pit bull-golden retriever mix. He did have another dog named Stutch (the names being played off the names Starsky and Hutch) but he gave that dog away. Barry likes canoeing, hiking, snowboarding, basketball, tennis, surfing, scuba diving, and sking among other things. Barry has brown hair and hazel eyes. He has an older brother and sister - Scott and Christie and a yonger brothher - Kip. His favorite actress is Patricia Arquette and his favorite movies are "Valley Girl" and "Blue Velvet." Besides 7th Heaven, Barry has been kept busy with filming movies as well. In early 2002, it was announced that Barry had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease (a form of cancer). Barry ended his run on the show with the conclusion of the sixth season. However, Barry will continue during the seventh season on the writing staff for the show.
In August, 2002, Barry won best actor in a drama at the 2002 Teen Choice Awards.
Barry Watson plays Matt Camden on the hit tv series "7th Heaven." Matt is the oldest of seven Camden kids and was considered to be rebellious in his High School days. Matt moved up to the attic during his senior year of High School when Simon decided that he didn't want it. At the beginning of his freshman year of college, Lucy fixed up an old car that Annie had bought and gave it to Matt. Matt lived at home throughout his freshman year of college before moving out at the beginning of his sophomore year to share an apartment with best friend John Hamilton. It was also during his sophomore year that Matt decided he wanted to be a doctor. After some problems occurred in Matt's junior year to where John blamed Matt for his girlfriends parents cutting her off, John kicked Matt out. Matt moved back home, but was forced to share Mary and Lucy's old room with Robbie. Matt started working part time at a clinic while being a full time student. In 24 hours, Matt met and married Sarah Glass, the daughter of a Rabbi in May, 2002. That summer they headed off to New York together to attend medical school together. Matt and Eric were pretty mad at each other for some time but Eric excepted it.
